Phoenix area parks?

Hi folks,

Contemplating a trip down to Phoenix this March with a rented trailer and am wondering if there are any recommendations for parks?
Been on rvparkreviews and my eyes are starting to glaze over...not to mention that it seems like not every park is even listed there.
We aren't over 55, so I'm sure we would be excluded from some options.

Just hoping to find a nice 'home base' for the area....areas just north/south would be fine too.

Thanks :)

  • Well, looks like a few left at the White Tanks Park..HERE. Its out to the far west past Luke Airforce base. Just been remodeled to add electric and water at most sites. Might work for you. Check the dates.

  • Usery is pretty much full. McDowell Mountain is a little slower to fill up. They have online reservations, take a look. You are behind the power curve on these very good places.

My suggestion is to just get something, it will work out, then when you are in Phoenix see what you really want in the way of accomodations. There are hundreds if not thousands of RV parks in the Phoenix area, a site has your name on it.

    Good Luck!

    Ahhhh....Spring training. Makes sense.
Just looking to check out the area. Spent a week in Sedona a few years ago, so will most likely stay in the southern part and tour around....hiking/biking/relaxing by a pool hopefully :)

  • Some parks such as FIesta Grande in Casa Grande will take you even though listed as a 55 and over park. Transients are welcome if under 55.
The only restriction would be when Young children could use the facilities but, your profile shows you with no young children. Your dog would be okay IF there is room in the pet section

    Too far removed?

Lots of sites very hard to level in if memory serves me correct.

  • If you'd like a nature setting, check out Lost Dutchman State Park and the Maricopa County Parks such as Usery Mountain and McDowell Mountain.
