Pine Mountain RV Park in Georgia (near Calloway Gardens)

Who has stayed at this campground before? Can anyone recommend a site number? We're staying there over Thanksgiving and going to see the Christmas lights at Calloway gardens. We stayed at it's sister site in Destin area and didn't like the campground. It was too commercial especially with the "for sale" cabins everywhere. But we thought we would give this one a shot.

  • We stayed there 2 years ago and saw the holiday lights at Callaway Gardens as you plan. Campground was great and we truly enjoyed the Callaway Gardens lights. We drove thru in our vehicle as opposed to riding their tram. We could go at our rate for pictures and enjoyment.
  • We stayed there several times, all sites are concrete and clean, good power and internet, would recommend it to anyone.
  • We live just a few short miles from that CG. They have fixed it up pretty nice and its a great park. Some of the sites in the older section are not absolutley perfectly level , but it rates high overall in our book and its a fantastic park.

Also around there and as back ups, there are the COE campgrounds at West Point Lake- I beleive only R. Schaeffer Heard at the dam will be open then (closest to Callaway) . There is also a nice CG at FDR State park in Pine Mountain. You'd be pleased with any of the three.

Also might want to check out the Callaway mansion in nearby LaGrange.
  • We stopped there last spring just passing through. Every site looked good to me. We were just passing thru but it was so quiet we stayed 2 nights. The gardens weren't open yet and the RV park was not crowded. We would stop there again.
