Pismo Coast Village

We are headed there next month for a week with a fairly large group.
Looking for pros & cons from anyone that has stayed there. Already aware that they are serious about 'well mannered pets'. We're having to leave our mini weenie dogs with the daughter as they tend to cry and howl when we leave them in the rig. Also, how is the walk to the beach as the DW has some issues with a recent fused ankle. Thanks.

  • To me the draw for a beach located RV Park/Campground is the ability to see the ocean. At Pismo Coast Village you have to walk over a sand dune to view the ocean.

There is a wooden walkway to get to the top of the sand dune and an observation platform to view from. To get to the ocean you have to walk around the lagoon or swim/wade across it (not sure of the water quality).

Other than that it's a nice RV park. There is lots to do in and around town.
  • It is a really nice clean park, the ground grew was always at work, and is suited for large groups. We were there during the Vintage Trailer Rally just by accident. The spaces are close but the price was good.

There isn't really a walk on the beach it is surrounded by a lagoon between the campground and the ocean, with a sand dune to climb over to get to the lagoon I was very disappointed in that part.

If you watch the crawler at the top of the ad Here you will see the lagoon. I saw an earlier ad that did not show it as well.

I saw very few dogs while there, the store area also shown in the ad is very nice and clean, there is also a restaurant there.

Now that I know how it is set up I would go back with lower expectations. But I would go back.

It has nothing to do with the campground but it's location, the weather is changeable from really nice to cold and windy so come prepared for that.

I hope you enjoy your stay,
