Need info on the 2 there. SANDS or COAST VILLAGE. ? I have seen a few messages on them , not much info. Which is nicer, closer to stuff, shuttle or cab service available?, Party atmosphere or quiet at night? thanks

Pismo Sands is just a mile from the Ocean. Pismo Coast Village is ON the ocean. However, you cannot see the ocean from your site, the RVs are in a depression with the offices on a ridge that blocks the ocean view. However, you can walk up to the deck area with your chair and sit back and watch the ocean. Because of a natural sandbar the walk from the park to the waves is rather long. You are only a block or two from Pismo pier with pier fishing and restaurants. We've stayed at Pismo Coast Village, and have found it very nice. Very difficult to get in season reservation, so we don't frequent the park. We have never stayed at Pismo Sands, and don't remember driving by the facility.

Pismo Sands is further from the beach and stores, smaller in size then Pismo Coast. If you do not have a toad or other transportation. I would pick Pismo Coast you can walk to Pismo Beach from Pismo Coast. We stay at Pismo Sands because it's only 1 mile from Grandchildren.

Without a doubt, Pismo Coast Village.

I saw cards on the bulletin board at the store for them.When I was there a large rally was going on and it was very quiet, it seems that the people there are well mannered. If going in November it may be full around Thanksgiving. I would check ahead.

IMO PCV is the easy choice. We make several trips a year, most PCV but occasional the State Park (North Beach CG). This year Nov we will make 2 trips to Pismo; a week at PCV for Thanks Giving and a long weekend at the SP. November is one of the nicest times of the year along the central coast.

We like both Pismo Coast Village (sites are tight IMHO) but great proximity to the beach, shopping etc. Pismo Sands is nice and quiet and as mentioned before great pool and Jacuzzi. If you don't have a toad you may prefer PCV. The State Campground (Oceano) is our favorite, more of a campground than RV park.
Dwight, Pismo Dunes is an OK place for free ;) We have stayed there when we could not get in anywhere else. Hope this helps...Happy Camping !!!!! Kathie

You can't beat the jacuzzi at Pismo Sands. It's amazing. We used to stay at PCV but now we stay at PS when we go.

We're planning on being up that way for "Turkey Day"....I won a week at the Encore Resort, Pacific Dunes Ranch. Anyone been there....I know its not on the coast.

I am a shareholder at Pismo, and up until this year my one complaint was that there were often loud parties at night, after quiet hours. If you read reviews, others complained also. I think that management took it to heart. We were there for 10 days in the summer, and my earplugs were not needed. Except for TG weekend, you should not have any problems getting a spot.

We have stayed at Pismo Coast Village several times and they have roving security guards that make sure it is quiet at night, almost to the point of being overboard. The walk to town is only 3 blocks, very easy flat sidewalk to downtown restaurants
