I don't think you can, but the road is easy to ride on.I am pretty sure there is a no bike sign at the entrance, which is right in front of the state CG.

BTW - parking in town. There is a paved lot in front of the pier, and you have to pay to park. Right behind that is a dirt lot. The dirt lot is often used during festivals, but when it isn't being used, you can park in it for free. Get to it from Cypress.

I can't really say but, when I was there, from the top of the dune we could see people gliding along up right as if they were on a Segway or something like that.

If you find out about that I would like to know what that was.

I don't recall 100%, but am inclined to say no. No problem though, it's only about 1/3 mile long and a road runs adjacent to it. Definitely can't ride on the pier.

You can also take your car (if you have one), drive north past the bridge & creek one block, turn left, and drive to a free parking lot right on the beach. When we go to Pismo now we always stay at Pismo Sands RV Park, some of the sites are pretty close together, but during January it's not that crowded and we can always drive to the beach and park in that parking lot for free. We also have a CA parks pass so can drive on the beach with the 4WD pickup to watch the sunsets, hike in the dunes, etc.

I am here right now. Yes,the easiest way to get to the beach,especially for someone with a bad ankle is to take a short walk to town.

Some of the sites tend to be small, but there is often a green belt between your site and the site behind you. Often groups will be on both sides of the greenbelt.

There are lots of dogs here right now,and yes, very well behaved. Better than many of their owners. It can be noisy at times on weekend evenings, but if you call security, they should come and talk to them. I think more people should do that. 805-431-2790 :-)

PCV has become expensive, especially summer and Holidays, but we still really like it. We make a couple of trips a year. The only 2 downsides, both mentioned...

1) not all sites are created equal. IMO the North side is much better some even has ocean views. The south side can get tight, although we have always fit.

2) the walk to the sand/ocean isn't direct, but not too bad. Generally we will walk towards town over the bridge near 7-11 then straight down to the beach, maybe 5-7 min slow walk. Although often we will drive south to the first dunes beach ramp and simply drive out on the sand to a nice place for the kids to play.

We used to like this RV park very much. After being put in a spot way too short for our RV several times, we don't go there anymore. They have also gotten too overpriced. They are always so full they said they could not move us to a larger spot. Enjoy.

I think you will like it. The easiest way to get to the beach is walk out the main gate and head toward the pier and your on the beach, probably about 4 blocks. There are some smaller sites, but if your in a large group they will usually put you all in the same area with larger spaces. We love the place, so much so that we bought a share and that's the only place we camp anymore. Great people, great location, great restaurants. Hope you have a wonderful time.

Check it's reviews. Most love it. I do not. Depends on what you are looking for. It is one of the parks that attracts families where the kids are turned totally loose. It also attracts large, loud party groups. Quite hours were definitely not enforced any of the 4 weekday nights we were there last. To compound problems, we reserved a site way ahead of time knowing the popularity of the park and its small sites. Still, the site we were assigned was barely large enough for our 32' Class A with two slides. We were told it was because we arrived late in the day, around 4pm on a Monday, and that all the bigger sites had already been given out for the day. We were given a bigger site when one became available 3 days later. There's a pretty good restaurant on site where we usually get breakfast. One of the security guys I talked to last time we were there admitted that, as crazy as it was during our visit, that it had been 10 times worse the week before over Easter break. Police have had to be called in to rein in unruly teenagers I recently read. So, it depends on what you're looking for. We haven't been back in 4 years and will not return.
