Place near The Maze portion of Canyonlands NP in Utah?

I live even closer. The above poster is 200% correct. I have hiked Horseshoe Canyon several times. Goblin Valley State Park is the nearest and only improved area within miles of Hans Flat. The area is open to dispersal camping, but this is rough and remote country. Make sure you do your home work as if not prepared you are charged full price for rescue services. Seems to be an influx of unprepared people after some guy had to amputate his own are after getting caught I the rocks.
