For folks who call a campground the day of, have you researched the park prior to calling? We are going to be more flexible on our fall trip this year, but I'm thinking about creating a list of state parks, national parks, private campgrounds, and COE campgrounds to have handy for each area we plan to visit.
We've started on our homework, starting with Lafayette, LA. We will each make a list of what interests us and then decide how long we want to stay in the area. We have the general route planned and the length of time for the trip. We plan to leave Sept. 1 and be home sometime close to Oct 31. The only musts with fixed dates are Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta and Texas State Fair.
