Planning Mt. Hood Trip Need Input

So the wife and I are planning a Yellow Stone/Mt. Hood trip next summer. Would appreciate any input anyone may have for campgrounds as close to Mt. Hood as possible. Electricity nice but not required, water nice but not required. Need to fit a 34' fifth wheel in.
  • We have stayed at Mt Hood Village several times. Very nice park. Indoor pool, paved nature walk along the Salmon River nearby. Onsite cafe that serves a fantastic breakfast.

Last time we visited about 5 years ago it was getting over run by undesirables. Lots of thefts, peoples boats being taken and used by thieves.

  • You might try searching this Forum for `hood' in the RV Parks section. Don't search for `Yellow Stone'. Better to search for `Yellowstone'. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Park at Champoeg State park. Day trips around MtHood, wine country, Spruce Goose and the coast are all possible. If uou really want close
MtHood RV Village in Welches is the closest full hookups yo the mountain

My basic requirements are: As close to Mt. Hood as possible. Electricity nice but not required, water nice but not required, so full hook ups are not required. Need to fit a 34' fifth wheel in. Champoeg is too far away for my tastes.
