I suggest the KOA between Port Angeles and Sequim. You're going to be close enough that after you drop of your wife you'll be able to take walks with your dog. There is a nice county park trail system in Sequim, which is about 15 miles east of Port Angeles. Be aware that the Fed Gov't is a big presence on this part of the Olympic Peninsula: Hurricane Ridge and Dungeness Spit are awesome places to hike and walk, but your dog will have to stay in the car. Because of that we found alternate places for this, hence: the county park trail and Salt Creek is a good place for pets.
Ft. Worden SP is about 45-50 miles east, and Salt Creek is 15-20 miles to the west of Port Angeles.
