We have reserved our spot months ago at Fishing Bridge Campground in Yellowstone National Park for a week, now I have been informed we will be having 7 people in our party instead of 6 and the limit per site is 6 I feel bad sneaking someone extra in, like in the old days at an drive-in theater, but I have been planning the trip for a year and really want to stay in Yellowstone. The 7th is coming from another country and no way to leave out. I would gladly pay extra but I am afraid since it is the government it is probably, a cut and dried rule.Ages within the group: 9,12,15,17,42,50,75.Any thoughts?Thanks,Dean

I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. No one is going to come to your camping site and count bodies, unless your group causes someone to respond because of loud noise or loud music.

I understand your dilemma but feel that this is one family. I tend to think the six rule is for multiple families on one site (two families with four kids each sharing one site). I don't know what someone would do if they had five kids under 17. Where are you supposed to put them ... alone. I think not. I would just register as a family of six and let it go.

4 kids, 3 adults. With all the running around, friends coming and going, who would care? Have fun and don't worry.

How would the person doing the head count know if they belong to the site or were just visiting. Most evenings we have more than 6 for happy hour or for a cook out.

Sneak the one in and drop $10 per day into the park donation box.

I love that saying - at times - and think, along with the others, that you should be just fine unless you are out to cause trouble.

And, if that is the kind of people you are, you would not be asking here!

For a week? geeez...the chances of getting caught are pretty high, I would think. People will complain. One night, for sure you'd be good..but a week..tell you what, I'd have a back-up plan, just in case you get tossed. And I just looked at Google Maps and you are a long long way from a gate/rv park.

Do what we used to do with the dogs at motels. Just don't put them all out at one time.
