In the Winston area --
Tanglewood Park Campground is a beautiful county owned park. The campground is nice but many of the sites are nowhere near level. The park is in Clemmons, which is just a few miles west of Winston.
Oak Hollow Campground in High Point is a city owned campground. It's on a nice lake but same problem as Tanglewood--some of the sites aren't very level. The B section is a flat (gravel) area but the sites are tight. It's a 15-20 minute drive to Winston.
Here's the fairgrounds camping info for Winston. The area on a couple of sides of the fairgrounds is a bit dicey. I'm not exactly sure where the camping area is, but . . we'd stay there (and we're fairly picky about such things), but I'd keep my eyes open and be a little extra vigilant.
