If I remember correctly, restaurants are quite far from St Joe. St George has some good local restaurants, no chain stores here and depending on how far you like to bike you could bike to them. There is a bike trail. Also St George is pet friendly on the beach but NOT in the park section. Both places are beautiful in their own way with biking and kayaking. My friend just returned from St Joe and they caught a pompano just surf fishing. Pretty cool.
