Sites 43 & 44 are very large. I think 44 has a bit more shade. It's a fairly long walk to the beach. There is parking close to the beach. 2 small convenient stores on the Island with limited selection. Across the bridge into Apalachicola there's an IGA. The raccoons are determined little pests so be careful with trash. If you're in pretty good shape the long, long walk along the beach toward the point with Dog Island (I think) is an amazing hike for the shells and just the Robinson Crusoe feeling of being abandoned on a deserted isle. Some locals and folks in the know drive thru the interior of the island to reach the point due to the great fishing but the "road" is just loose sand and brush and requires 4WD and experience. If you like something different hike behind the CG into the interior toward the bay and look for Osprey nest and learn about the turpentine.
