recommendation for RV park in Mississippi

We will be traveling along us 90 in Mississippi the middle of September.

Would like to stay someplace between Biloxi and Bay St Louis.

Any recommendation for this area.
  • Bucaneer SP in Bay St. Louis is wonderful!! Also, the knock-knock loungeand the restaraunt beside it have great reasonable seafood!

I second that. The park was pretty much flattened by Katrina so everything is new since then.

I spend a month or so there every winter.

GPS directions don't work very well for me. Follow the Silver Slipper Casino signs from 90 until you get to the beach. The Casino is right, the park is left.
  • I like Bucaneer SP. Try to get the side away from the train tracks. Do NOT approach using Clearmont Rd; the railroad crossing is humped quite a bit and you might get hung up. Lakeshore Rd. farther west is fine.
  • On the road to the Silver Slipper, just as you turn off HWY90 on the left is an RV park called the Bay Hideaway that has some nice amenities and decent monthly rate of $480 electricity included for 30 amp (the same as Buccaneer SPs monthly rate).

For short stays I also recommend the Buccaneer SP as they have a neat wave pool the kids will love. The buffet at the Slipper is pretty good (R,F, and Sat all you can eat Dungeness crab for $27.95) and 1/2 price with a player's card (or for $2 in comps if you are a gambler)from m-w (Monday is steak night). I guess you can tell I've eaten there a few times, huh. ;)

    Thanks for the replies.
This will be a great help.
  • Davis Bayou in Ocean Springs. Half price with a senior pass.
  • I think you will find that your RV park options along US-90 are either at Bay St Louis or Biloxi and beyond, with little in between. I'm not sure, my daughter left the Biloxi area for a new assignment in Kansas three years ago, so I have not visited since then.

My own preference is the Davis Bayou camping area in the Gulf Islands National Seashore (senior discounts and all that) but that would be campground, not RV park, and it is well beyond Biloxi, a bit east of Ocean Springs.
