We just stayed at Ancient Redwoods in Redcrest. Well-designed park, well maintained, good location, great management. (We usually stay at Albee Creek but for health reasons needed full hookups this time.)
Bring leather gloves and extra plastic containers -- the berry bushes are just about ripe right now. Also, bike riding on Avenue of the Giants is a lot of fun. Start at the park headquarters and ride to Myers Flat and then head back downhill. (Very gentle hills.)
When you hike in Rockefeller Grove, be sure to cross the creek on the bridge and check out the other half of the grove.
