Washoe Lake State Park and Davis Creek (Washoe County Park) are between Reno and Carson City. Davis Creek looks very much like Tahoe Valley that was posted. Both are close to Virginia City and Tahoe. There are several parks in and around Lake Tahoe and/or Truckee. You might stay in the Tahoe area a few days, then come over to the Reno area for a few days. Both have a lot to offer visitors.
X2 on Washoe Valley. Close to Reno, Carson City, Virginia City, and Tahoe. Davis creek is in the pine trees. Washoe lake is open and without shade.
