Resort near New Orleans
Can anyone suggest a park which is nice with level sites and also most important, safe? We don't like sitting on dirt or mud in case it rains. I was told don't stay in New Orleans because of the crime...

We stayed there in early June. The park is paved throughout and has private bathrooms with shower. Very, very nice. We are in our 60's and walked to the French Quarter several times and never felt threatened. We did not go at night. If you are there after dark you might feel safer taking a cab back to park. Make sure to carry an umbrella as sudden rain showers happen often in the afternoons in southern Louisiana. Enjoy and have Beignets and Great coffee @ Café Du Monde!
