I do find it more humid than here even in the winter. However, to me that extra humidity is a benefit in winter (well, as long as it is not raining). At the same temperature--in winter--I generally feel more comfortable in the RGV than I do here in AZ (even when not windy here).
But my cold tolerance after living out here for more than 15 years is low. I will be wearing long pants and a jacket when it is 60 out while people from Minnesota are wearing shorts and sandals.
