Thanks for the post and information.
We too have used those ideas. Here are a couple of our "ridiculously" extreme boondocking ideas for conservation:
- We use body wipes and dry shampoo, doing a full shower (navy type shower of course) every third day.
- Coconut shampoo and body bar is used when bathing to serve "double duty". - We catch the water from the hot faucet until it heats up, using that for solids in the toilet.
- All eating and cooking utensils are wiped clean with paper towels. Those are washed using biodegradable dish soap and that dish pan is used for an entire day with only a trickle to rinse.
- Used dish soap is used to put out the campfire and some gray water from the tank, if needed.
- Facial wipes are used to clean off DW's makeup.
- Hand sanitizer is used in both bathroom and kitchen to clean hands instead of using soap and water.
- As many veggies and fruit are washed at home and packed wrapped in paper towels to keep fresh as long as possible. Washing them at home, saves water.
- Even though we have deep cycle batteries and a generator, we use LED lanterns at night.
