All great ideas and feedback. I like all the extra ideas. As for the black tank question - we leave home with a couple of gallons in it to help keep it wet while out boondocking. If it's urine only, no extra water is used, but if it's solids, then water from the bucket is used. All "tinkle" paper goes into a separate bag and not down the toilet. This helps prevent the problem of sensor reading issues. And if we happen to be dry camping at a FS CG, we use the CG's bathroom during the day and ours in the middle of the night. This extends our stay too. As for the extreme part of this - leaving home with two gallons in the black tank is to help turn the solids into liquid. What I see is more water being used in the toilet to help keep "streaks" off the bowl but that too can be prevented by manual wiping it down and not using water to flush and flush. Hands wash and sanitizer is a must. As the OP said, this is extreme. I saw a product online years ago for bowl liners but have never used them.
