We use the paper towel trick even at home - paper towels used for the meal are recycled to wipe down counters. Guess I'll have to start wiping off the plates before they go in the dishwasher. Anything that I don't have at home for a meal or whatever, DH asks me before I run to the store, "what would you do if we were camping?". "Do without" is my answer, so we do.
