To conserve water we just let the dogs *lick* the dishes clean. Then, we make sure that we serve unexpected company on those dishes......bahahaha...
We have a Tap light mounted over each bed, so if someone needs to get up in the night we're not burning lights. We try (but don't always succeed)to get a space with good shade to hold down A/C use.
Nothing too extreme, but it all helps.
