Tybee island has gone through changes over the years. I remember when I was a kid and we went, it was more of a tourist trap type of place. Maybe because I was a kid, but that's what I remember of it. Then about 20-25 years ago when i was there it seemed as it was going down hill in my opinion. The beach seemed trashy. Not so much things in business as much. Then it turned more towards a residential type of place. Last time I was ere was about 5 years ago. Still low key. If you are looking for peace and quiet, then this is the place. If you are looking for myrtle beach, then this isn't the place.
Rivers end is owned by the city I believe. Never been to it, but they did send us information about it to put on our website. We may have to check it out sometime.
