Riverwalk RV Park, Fortuna

Has anyone stayed here? It is near Avenue of the Giants.

Any other recommendations for this area?
  • If you are into Victorian architecture don't miss Historic Ferndale Ca. A short drive from the RV park.
Check out the Cemetery if you go.

That's fine with me. I don't want to park under trees.

What's neat about that place is that there are many groves, small ones, along the road which you would never see unless you walked it.
  • we have stayed there twice.
it is probably the nicest park on 101 in northern ca. it is clean and well maintained

Yep nice place but is just a large parking area with grass between sites, short walk to some redwood trees,Big Rig friendly.

  • I agree with tpi, stayed there while visiting family, nice place, there is a nice little restaurant with in walking distance and the Avenue Of The Giants entrance is about 24 miles south.

If you want to stay right in the redwoods the Burlington campground is the place to stay. I have camped there a lot,the picture in my signature was taken there, the Visitors Center there is a must see.

If you want hookups then just down the road about a mile is Giant Redwoods RV and Camp in Myers Flat.

Stayed there too and enjoyed the stay.
  • Yes I spent one night there when passing through summer 2014. It was well maintained, typical closely spaced nice private RV park-developed grassy with some planted trees. Paved pull throughs. Only ducked in the restroom briefly but looked fine. Office personnel fine. Was full or nearly full the night I was there-I arrived without reservations.
