Rockport Tx

We are thinking of spending a week or two in Rockport next year. We are interested in sightseeing, relaxing and golf. We don't fish but like seafood. What do you recommend? Thanks.
  • We spent some winter time in Rockport three years in a row. Stayed at Sandollar RV Resort. Well managed, several live oaks, a little tight getting into assigned spaces, difficult to reserve a spot. Most that stay there reserve a year in advance and come back year after year. We really liked the Rockport area that seemed to be turned over to the winter Texans at that time of year. Ridiculously cheap Wednesday meals at The Big Fisherman restaurant, FREE popcorn at the local movie theater (bring your own container and some abusers bring dishpans) Aransas wildlife refuge is nearby.

  • Free popcorn is only on Tuesday nights after 6
Seafood? Captain Benny's has delicious shrimp.
Ate at a new restaurant the other night that wasn't here last year called Blue Crab Cafe. Wife ordered the crab cakes which I don't like but I tried a bite of hers and they were delicious.
65 on the way to 66 today but I'm sure we will go higher.
70's tomorrow and the next day
Forgot to add that the Big Fisherman has been closed now for at least 4 years
  • Too bad about the Big Fisherman closing. Sold too many 50 cent beers and went broke I suppose.
Also a row of antique shops and a couple of used book stores if thats your thing.
