Strange weather pattern Rockport Tx

Its been a wet spring here in Rockport, and currently we are getting storms each night out of the west/southwest, normally a dry direction. Weather person sez its to continue for several more days. Filling up the lakes, that's good. Making mosquitoes, that's bad.
  • Yes, Very strange! And agree on the lakes, streams, and skeeters being happy! We have had 1.5" so far since last Friday!
  • I saw last week the Valley got 5 inches and it appear like it's been raining off and on ever since. After last winter I'm glad we left early given the spring you're having.

One of the reasons we left Rockport after a month was those mosquitoes. Everyone was telling us it was never that bad before. Ran into an old snowbird who said it was like that every year he's been there. I could actually kill four of them with one slap to my leg.

Glad you're getting some rain at last, I'm sure California/Arizona would love to have it right about now.
  • Chance of rain every day this week here in the RGV. An inch or so last night. I hope the Canyon Lake area is getting some of this. Never saw it so green down here. Cool wet weather will do that.
  • I heard someone in our park say it is an El Nino year. If so I guess that would account for the increased rainfall. They really need it, especially in the Lake Travis area.
  • 1.7 inches in 20 minutes last night West of Mission. Lightening blew the top off a Palm Tree near the office.
  • Lot of rain again before daybreak here in Rockport with street flooding
  • Just checked the rain gauge and another 3 inches! That is 4.5 since last Friday and there is rain in the forecast. Going to need to stock up on skeeter spray! Walmart ran out at some point in August last year...lol
  • Yes, El Nino has returned in the Pacific. Here in AZ we are already have some storms that are more like early monsoon type. Where we live, we had record rainfall last week. Expect it to continue and also the NOAA long range for the SouthWest is for a wetter than normal spring.
