Apr 01, 2016We own a condo in BHC that we use year-round. And you're correct, several builders are building homes with RV garages for under $250K.
BHC has a very large retiree population that is augmented a great deal during the winter with snowbirds. More than 50% of the condos in my complex are owned by snowbirds, including some from Canada and one from New Hampshire. Summer brings out the So Cal boating crowds.
If you enjoy the desert, BHC is just as good as any other desert area. The cost of living is very low, specially when compared to So Cal.
If you buy a house and decide to rent it out at a later time, keep in mind the rents in BCH are generally modest due to the modest wages in the area.
Good luck!
