The wife and I are planning a trip from SoCal to Kansas City next summer. We flew last time, but our Golden is getting older and doesn't do well when boarding with a friend. We considered taking the trailer but with our advanced age, it would take us a week to get there as about 5 hours of towing a day is our limit (my wife won't drive anymore and that's probably a good thing). Add a couple of days break along the way and it gets too expensive.
We are considering just driving and staying at RV parks that have "tiny houses" that we are seeing in more and more RV parks.
We're not big on Motels so how would one locate parks that have those type of facilities?
I hear ya about the cost of moving the RV's about.
Too bad you are not coming to Florida! I just stayed at a CG that had about 20 concrete block little 3/2 homes on the other side of the CG.
I inquired about them and I could have drove my car or flew down and stayed in these beautiful little homes on the waterfront for 1/2 the price of what it cost me to drive down with my MH.!
Check this out too. Albiet not in a CG.
http://www.vrbo.com/This is the 'number 1' rated sight for vacation rentals. From houses, cabins, to even huge MH's parked on lots, etc.
I've had several of my friends and relatives over the years use this site to find a place to stay when they come to visit me while I am on the road.
