- aerbus32Explorer IIOf all mentioned, Pechanga in Temecula is by far the best. Passport America midweek. Problem is commuter traffic is very heavy in the direction you would be going. A problem you would definitely be dealing with in staying at any of the greater San Diego facilities, such as Santee & Ramona. As one who retired from the area, I would strongly suggest that you consider Champagne Lakes. Beautiful facility located on old 395 between Escondido & Temecula.
- JTExplorerDixon Lakes is closest, but the "no dogs allowed" doesn't work. Dos Picos seems the best bet. Thanks for the suggestions!

- Sloop_SmittenExplorerLake Dixon is the closest RV Park. No dogs and no wood fires. They have some full hook-up sites ($28 a night.
Lake Dixon Camping Information - JTExplorerThanks for the suggestions; I will check out each one!

x2! - mileshuffExplorerEscondido RV resort is nice if you stay in the upper area. The lower area is smaller spots and rather tight. They have length rules for the upper lot I believe 32' and longer only.
- jules6ExplorerDos Picos in Ramona, County park with elect and water, showers and dump station. Nice quiet and clean park.
- guidryExplorerI'd suggest Santee Lakes.
