RV Parks in Arizona

We stayed at Holbrook/Petrified Forest KOA overnight last year...it was nice...you might check it out on their website. We were in a motorhome towing and had a pull-thru.

There's a huge petrified log right there in the rv park!!

I believe the only other AZ rv park we have used is in Williams and that was the Grand Canyon Railway rv park.

Dead Horse Ranch State Park in Cottonwood (18 miles south of Sedona), is a very nice facility and we saw lots of large rigs there. :C

Sedona is SO beautiful!!!

We have been to Dead Horse many time and really like it, but in June it will be pretty hot. Just looking for some place different to go. Trying to find some place in the high country park of the state.

Not sure if they have sites that big, but if you liked Fool Hollow, take a look at the Big Lake area in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest near Springerville and Eager. The elevation is about 9,000' I think? There is also a campground at Luna Lake and some commercial parks near Alpine. Some nice campgrounds near Hanegan Meadow also.

If you want a month or two and cool,anything below 8000 ft. needs air con. in the summer in Az. if you want cool, go to Alpine, Az. 8000ft. small town, nicest mountains in Az. by far. Lot of back country, game, views, lakes. Cheap Golf 9 hole. Tall trees, very tall trees. Best in July, August, Sept. Cheap rent. Three plus parks, I have had a secound home there for 35 years.

Voyager in Show Low has big sites with pool and activities.

If you are headed to Arizona in June (not mentioned in the OP), you need to be above 6,000' or it is going to be HOT! Up in the mountains it is not a problem but June is the hottest driest month as the Monsoon usually does not arrive until July first.

We parked our trailer in a storage yard in Lakeside at 6,800' last summer (for $25 a month), and just commuted up there every other week for 4 or 5 days. We never needed the AC and had a great summer hitting a different CG each trip. Big Lake is another good call as they can handle the large rigs, have hook ups and are at 9,200'. :C

We plan to stay at least a month at Venture In in Show Low. Nice parks and plenty of big sites. The State Recreation Area is beautiful and has a number of big full-hookup sites, also.
