Sedona AZ

Planning a June trip to Sedona AZ. We have a place to stay already. We plan to be there about a week and want to know what places to see within a days drive. We plan to drive to the Grand Canyon.

DH is 71, I'm 64 and both are a little achy in the bones sometimes. Not looking for strenuous. Want to see a lot of natural beauty... great local food... star gazing etc.

Good scenic road routes encouraged!

thanks

  • must see are rugs, sand paintings @ Garland's rugs....and leave that dangerous plastic in the car.
  • I believe that West Fork of Oak Creek Canyon didn't have any fire damage from last year. It is a pretty walk along a creek with lots of trees. I recommend going up to the Snow Bowl and taking the ski lift to the top. Fantastic view. Also recommend the Verde Valley train ride out of Clarksdale for a day trip. There's a really cool fish hatchery in the Verde Valley area but the name escapes me. Sunset Crater is worth a visit, and there is the Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff. The Hideaway in Sedona has been a nice place to eat. Have fun!
