Look at a map - although the parks are contiguous, the road is not - you basically go out one, back into the other, and it is a fairly long drive. You might want to split up your time and stay in both camps.
That said - we have been to Sequoia twice, both off season, both times at Lodgepole. Now you would think if you go off season, you will be able to get a great site, right? Nope because they close off so many loops there are not enough spaces. I haven't been in about 8 years so maybe they are doing better...
