We have several 2-5 lb. Chihuahuas and are looking for ideas for being able take them with us to warmer climates during the winter months. They like the cold and snow about as much as we do.Most parks "advertise" no more than 2 dogs, if any at all. I don't know if that's a hard and fast rule, or do they make exceptions and if so, where do they draw the line.We are fairly private folks and don't need any amenities. As long as we have hook-ups, we're good.Just wondering if anyone else has a similar situation and/or if there are any ideas floating around that maybe we haven't thought of.Thanks for your (serious) input. :)

Many parks in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas will make exceptions, Call and ask. Don't be shy.

What do you mean by 'several'??I don't understand a park that has a 'rule' then makes exceptions :HIf they have a rule it should be enforced otherwise don't have the rule.WE traveled with a 68# dog and ran across many RV CGs/Parks that had not only a 2 dog rule but a 40# max rule. So we went elsewhere.........LOTS of CGs out thereState and National CGs have NO dog restrictions so you can use them for your 'several' dogs

While darsben's comment was rather rude, the message behind it is important:You need to understand the limitations of your dogs and work within thoose limitations to reduce their impact on other campers. Follow the rules of the campground and if your dogs can't do so (such as barking while you're gone), then you have to change your behavior (don't leave them alone or find another campground where the barking is acceptable - or boondock).I say that as a fellow dog owner with a less than perfect dog. I make sure my dogs have as little impact on my fellow campers as possible - and yes, that does limit my choices and opportunities.And yes, please ask the parks if they will make an exception. Do not try to sneak them in. Do not get mad at the park if it won't make an exception, just try another place. The more pleasant we dog owners are to deal with, the more likely parks will let us in. And if a neighbor complains, don't go on the defensive. Be reasonable, be pleasant, and be willing to adjust your behavior to make it work. That will do more good than arguing that your dogs are perfect.

WOW!! It never fails! Ask for some constructive advise and you get this. Whether I have dogs or not, I surely wouldn't want to be sitting next to you.
