Lots of Stuff, Where was that picture taken at the North Rim?
profdant139 is most likely right I don't know for sure.
The North Rim was closed when I stopped by, but a nice lady at Jacobs Lake gave me a map of dirt roads bypassing the closed roads. 35 miles of dirt road and I was camped all alone and right on the rim. Worth all the dirt roads for sure. - profdant139Explorer IIMike, I am going to guess that his picture shows Steamboat Mountain. And I will guess that it was taken from Timp Point in the Rainbow Rim area -- my shot, below, was taken from north of there, near Locust Point, during Recreational Beverage Time:
Here is a shot of the right (i.e., western) shoulder of Steamboat at 5 am -- no beverages, but better lighting: - Mello_MikeExplorerLots of Stuff, Where was that picture taken at the North Rim?
- profdant139Explorer IILots of Stuff asked, "How's that for showing off?" That's not showing off -- that's called "sharing." You've allowed us to tag along on your adventures! Well done, and thanks.

No photos but we were in Farragut State Park, Athol, Idaho over the weekend. All hookup sites were sold out the day they became available in November so we took the leftovers. Beautiful park, was a WW II Navy site on the Pend Oreille Lake north of Coeur d'Alene and southe of Sandpoint. Easy lake access, numerous hiking and biking trails, not far from Silverwood Theme Park which has it's own rv park, most likely with hookups.
Your right it is a Beautiful place.
My uncle went through Boot Camp there in 1942. He then was on Aircraft Carriers in the Pacific to the end of the war.
The Visitors Center had a picture of him and his Company 51, 12th Battalion, 3rd Regiment and for about $20 sent me a copy ! How cool is that ? - EastwacamperExplorerNo photos but we were in Farragut State Park, Athol, Idaho over the weekend. - Less_StuffExplorerOk I'm going to bend the title just a little as posting from a dry camping spot isn't often possible for me.
These are dry camping spots we've used in the past:
First one is a rather nice spot in Idaho.
Wife with curlers just out and wearing my swim trunks?
Only sounds were cows mooing.
Queets river valley in the Olympic National park.
We were the only folks in this nice Fort Peck, Montana campground.
Our rented German motorhome in backyard of brother-in-laws summer home near Fredrickshaven, Denmark.
Same rented motorhome dry camped in a Paris, France RV park.
Dry camped this last spring on a wonderful beach near La Paz, Baja California Sur.
Another spot on the La Paz beach.
Another cool Baja California beach this one near Mulege.
End of the paved road on the Bonneville Salt Flats.
End of a long dirt road right on the edge of the Grand Canyon. North Rim.
Hows that for showing off ? - pnicholsExplorer IIJalama Beach
