Solar lights

I use them so much that now when looking at a catalog, I'll say, "solar lights" and my DH will say, "NO!"
But with night blindness, it sure helps me see how to get back to the trailer at night. Besides that, they look nice! :D

I got some of the kind for steps, and velcro(ed) the back of the light and the side of the steps. I just attach them when we arrive and remove them when we close up the steps to leave. Since it is only a Velcro strip on the steps, it doesn't impede the working of the step. They work really great!

We bought some at the local hardware store. Use them at home around the doors and take a few up to take with us when we go camping. Put them back when we return home.
They work even better in snow than they do in sun.

lol...the lights are nice. Are they spotlights? no, but they are sufficient. We like the base they sit and rotate on. There are a lot fo variations to use them. AS I think I mentioned, my wife will even use them in the house in the morning when she wakes up and has her coffee. She likes the light that it puts out with having to turn on the lamps or overhead lights.

Well, at least if you're camped in Colo., you're close enough to go back and get them!

Sorry, didn't mean to one up you. Was responding to another post. The one you pictured looks to be the nicer one. But since I'm a bit of a hound dog, I'll just buy a few of the El Cheapos.

Just by the way, I won't pick on you for having a 'late model' rig.... if you don't mention my 'old dog' rig. :B

So far no one has mentioned a solar light that has what I need on everything I own -- the ability to let me know that I have driven off and left it behind! ;) Thank goodness I'm old enough to call it a "Senior Moment" except it's pretty perpetual.

Well the posting was referring to the d.light solar lights like I posted. Just got confused when you said spikes, because ours don't have spikes.

With that said, it often happens on here and other places online that when someone mentions something, that others have to try and "one-up" them. "I paid 5 cents for a piece of gum....oh yeah? I paid only 3 cents for mine..." lol

We take 5 solar lights and a home made one with us every time. The 5 we take are apr 4-5 years old and were the $2.49 ones you get at any variety store. The home made one is made up of a larger type solar light. About 3-1/2" dia. You can twist the tops off most of them, so I removed the top and installed it on a large round plastic container jar. The type with the locking top. I painted the inside of it for color. We set it out during the day and bring it in at night and use it in the bathroom for a night light. It will stay on for a long time. It is also the type that requires an AA battery. The battery lasts several years. We usually set the other 5 solar lights out at various spots at our site. Usually by a stump or rock. We don't like bright lights at night and the solar lights are really just locator lights. We don't use the porch light either and have two lights with magnets attached that we put on the steps. They all give us a point of reference when walking in the dark. Plus we like the ambiance.
