Try Luling across the River from Kenner, easy access from I-10 get into NO easy, go right up the river rd. to Plantation county (see Oak Alley pltn. great tour, nice restaurant, scene of many movies) go west to towards Grand Isle, Morgan City etc.
I would also suggest you look up the various parish tourist bureaus online, some of them have very extensive listings for attractions and must see's.
Second the Avery Island tour and the Konriko rice mill tour in New Iberia (buy some of the proprietary Pecan flavored brown rice, excellent).
