South Texas Beaches March

We are headed down to Houston area in the middle of March and are looking for a nice RV park close to the beach. We are currently planning on staying in the Galveston area but are open to anywhere on the coast for about a week.

Thanks!
  • Texas beaches get nicer the further south down the coast you go from Galveston. Keep in mind March is a prime spring break season for the Texas coast, but it is primarily centered in South Padre Island. Make reservations sooner rather than later.
  • We are planning after March 18th so we should hopefully miss most of Spring Break!! Wasn't sure on how far south to go though...so thought we would ask.
  • “after March 18th so we should hopefully miss most of Spring Break!!l”

Sounds good to me! Particularly with Easter bein’ April 1st! Dah.
  • As mentioned Texas beaches get better the farther south you go. Though if you are sticking with the Galveston area you might try on of the RV parks on the Bolivar Peninsula just north up the coast from Galveston. There is a free vehicle ferry that connects Galveston to the Peninsula (about a 10 minute ride), there is a lot of new construction on the Peninsula as nearly everything there was repeatedly flattened by hurricanes between 2005 - 2012 or so. Which has had the effect of turning it from lots of ran down beach shacks into a fairly nice place with actual stores, water parks, etc.
