Matagorda Beach Texas
Just wondering if any of ya'll have any experience with the Texas Matagorda beach area. They do allow overnight camping, but just wondering about the softness of the sand etc?

- I tent camped at the old Brown Cedar cut about 30 years ago. Accessed by 4x4. Wade fished. Didn't catch anything. Waist deep in the bay about a mile out and had a snake visit. Almost walked on water.
- Been down it from end to end in Subaru. Make sure you air down and can air up when you leave. It is soft if you get out of tracks. Lots of got it to yourself after summer.
- I do have 4 wheel drive on a 4500 dually.
- Should be OK, but just accessing the beach from FM 2031 can sometimes make you wish you had 4-wheel drive.
