Texas Beach Camping ?
I have read several times on here about some where in Texas that you can pay ten bucks and camp a long time . I can not find that post ! Where did it Go ?

- There are a fairly large number of places you can beach camp in Texas. As mentioned above "north beach" is one offering about 8 miles of camping and south beach ALSO offers another 60 or so miles of open beach camping but beyond the first five miles a 4X4 is required. Another is located on South Padre Island (instead of Padre Island) and across the inlet on Boca Chico beach (South of South Padre Island and directly south of the town of Padre Island) and this one usually means isolation from other campers. Another semi developed area on North Padre is Bird Island Basin which is on the lagoon side of the island instead of the bay side.
Good luck / Skip - Bolivar Peninsula is my favorite but All beaches in Galveston county are useable and cost $10.00 per year to dry camp. I drive my class A right out

Also if on your route the Cajun Riviera in Louisiana is nice w camping on the beach. Real name is Holly Beach - If you camp long term on the beach be prepared for lots of rust.
- It will be hard to clean all that salt out from under your camper. Be ready for rust!
- Texas was the first state to open all of its beaches to the public, followed by Oregon in 1967, and California (by voter initiative) in 1972. 42 years later only these states have their coastline open to the public. Difficult to understand why the rest allow their beaches to remain privatized and restricted for use.

MONEY IS ALWAYS THE ANSWER- All beaches in Florida are open to the public , if ya can get to them !
- I wondered about the salt and rust issues from camping on the beach. Also thought about all the blowing sand getting in the nooks and crannies of the axles and suspension of both the trailer and vehicle. Is this a big problem? Any remedies?
