We lived in EP for 31 years. We retired and left in 2010. Have stayed at Spruce Lake three times since leaving. Once for almost two weeks. Suggest you read reviews in rvparkreviews.com. I've posted a couple. Would say that they will give you a pretty accurate assessment of the campground.
Sites are adequate in size, but you are cozy with your neighbors. You get lots of short timers. Many of the campers are 1-2 week a year campers plus the occasional weekend at the lake. We found that they lack camper social skills such as not walking through your campsite. Many of their kids are even more lacking in manners. Infrastructure/utilities are a bit tattered. It's a mud pit when it rains. On the positive side, staff was very nice. It is very near the National Park.
The park is owned by a group of investors who specialize in buying RV parks with positive cash flow and holding them for ten years or less and then selling to developers who repurpose the property. I read the prospectus. Minimum investment was $100K. They also own Elk Meadows and Dakota Ridge. Your experience as a workcamper will be dependent on the on site manager. The one last year was very nice and seemed to care.
