We stayed at Anastasia SP in St Augustine and really liked it. Staff was very friendly. Even though I only have a truck camper, they put me in probably the only site I wouldn't fit due to height. They offered to come back and cut the limb out of my way but I said they wouldn't cut it since it was a main limb from a huge live oak.
Regardless of where you stay, when you visit downtown St Augustine, arrive at the fort by 3:00 to get a parking space. Pay at the station for the two hours to cover you until 5:00 at which time the meters are no longer monitored. I was amazed at the number of people after 5 putting money into the pay station despite the hours being posted.
A few blocks away is Pizzalleys, a fantastic Italian restaurant recommended by one of the guards at the fort. He claimed it was better than the Italian food he ate when he visited Italy and I can understand why. We were served enough food for two meals, but it was so good we couldn't stop eating until it was gone. My wife had the Lasagna and I had a sausage calzone. For the price, we were amazed at the size of the portions. We may be going back to Florida just to eat there again.
