We just returned from a one nighter at Blanding Landing along the Mississippi, and it was practically empty. Just us, two tents and two hybrids. It was well shaded and very nice campground, except for the trains. Did not know it was right next to the main line for BNSF. I guess no one told them quiet time was between 10 PM and 6 AM. LOL
As long as it has electric hook up, and a dump we are pretty set. Shade is a plus, and being quiet is also a plus. We have two kids, 9 and 11, and having something for them to do is what we need to focus on, our last trip to Utah left them a bit bored and trailer bound, so having activities for them would be helpful. We went to Chestnut Mountain and they had fun, and the CG had a playground too, so this trip was much better for them.
I found Hickory Hollows site, so going over that one now, and checking the state park on the reserve site.
These little weekend trips are going to help payoff the trailer and not make it a barn queen. So far just the three trips we have done in it have saved us a few grand in what we would have spent for motels/hotels/meals. It has opened up short trips for us, and am really starting to get into it. Want to use it as long as I can during the year. Too bad it still snows in April or I would use it to go to Toledo for the annual RC show.
