I live out of my 2007 Prius and work a full time job. I park and sleep at different locations throughout the week, such as WalMart, various Truck Stops, and Hotel parking lots.
At night time, I travel to my sleeping location and put up black curtains so nobody sees me in my prius, why? well it's because I like my privacy while sleeping and or watching movies for entertainment. My Prius is my home, and home is where I park.
I stay away from Residential areas and apartment parking lots. Laws for parking in residential areas vary from city to city and they differ based off the type of vehicle you have. CHECK YOUR LOCAL LAWS. i avoid this issue by avoiding those areas. When I stay at a Walmart or truck stop, I go inside and ask the manager if it's OK, usually it is, and most of them know I live in my car and consider me a regular.
I wake up before the sun comes up, and always look for trash around my car, I make sure to leave the area cleaner than when I came, respect the area. Then I usually buy a drink or breakfast from the business I'm at before I head to work.
I started living in my car because I finally became fed up with paying rent. Literally it's no different than throwing the money in the toilet, peeing on it, and then flushing.
I'm 34 years old, i can (and have) quit working at any moment, and gone traveling for months at a time, and then when I get tired of traveling, I start a new contract with a new or existing company. This also allows me to explore the many great cities of our country, and the many great outdoor locations at great lengths of time.
I absolutely love this lifestyle. I'm still a contributing member of society and I get a true sense of freedom.
Oh, I specifically joined this site because of this thread, i found it interesting,
