Someone mentioned that stealth camping just sounded "sleazy". To many people, rvers, rving, travel trailers, even big motorhomes imply low-class, poor, trash, etc.
To each his own. We're boondockers and we have at times stealth camped. Not only is it inexpensive, it's a lot of fun. It requires creativity, lots of common sense and a desire to do something that most people wouldn't think of.
You can call it anything you want, more and more people are doing it and for lots of different reasons. One big reason is that it's cheap and people just don't have the resources they used to for getting a home loan.
Why do most retirees come to Mexico to live full time? Same reason. They're dead broke, have very small pensions and are looking for good weather and cheap. People love cheap. That's what's driven wages down across many countries. All this talk about minimum wages and how awful it is not to mention buying foreign products from Walmart. How many of you have mutual funds that are invested in the Walmart industry?
Sorry, a bit of a rant but if someone wants to park in front of my home, come on down. Don't set up camp for a month but a night or two won't hurt anything. I think having a guest staying in front of my house would be great, why I might even invite them in for dinner.
