Back to your original and first post .... I can pretty much can guess that the/your pickup camper in the photo is camping because there's no other reason to pull over and take out a camera at that spot, except to do certain unlikely things such as:
A) Go back into the camper to use the toilet (possible ... but why take a picture then).
B) Park for awhile to take a day hike in the cactus (again possible ... but highly unlikely in that bland setting).
C) Have done a lot of homework to find out about good rockhounding out there in the middle of nowhere and then have to stay a few days to do it (again possible ... but highly unlikely that either of you are that serious about rockhounding).
