Still Laughing!

I'm in the north central part of Florida. And yes it's somewhat cold today all things considered that I am from Wisconsin.

The cold today is combined with rain and wind so it feels colder and the constant weather reports that it might still snow north of here 'apparently' has all the locals in lock down in their houses because of the weather!

I went out shopping this morning and all the stores make it look like a ghost town. Only one or two cars in the parking lot at each store!

When they see my plates I am bombarded each and every time I get out of the car with "bet you don't think this is cold do you?" As they are all bundled up and shivering and I don't even have a coat on!

Gotta love it! I know I do........because I am IN Florida and NOT Wisconsin thoroughly enjoying 40 degrees and little rain! :B

LOL, the wife and I just had the same experience. We rolled in to Cedar Key,Fl. this morning at 9:30, for an embarrassingly late breakfast. We never did find a single soul on foot, and traffic was so light, it looked like we snuck into town after a mandatory evacuation. We live at the ski slopes, in Northern PA, and can't whine much about 40* and drizzly, but I sure wish it was about 30* warmer from here all the way to Canada.

Three little inches of snow that has fallen, without warning, in the last 36 hours is basically still on the roadways. Most people drive 2WD vehicles. No sand. No salt. Almost no equipment for snow removal. Hilly terrain. 18 wheelers jackknifed all over the interstate system (no chains required). National Weather Service blew it by 100 miles.

    We're all amateurs.
  • We are from the north also and 40 down here (gulfshore MS) sure does seem a lot colder than 40 in MI - I think it's the humidity -- so low and dry whenever it's cold. Not sure, but it was like that in AL also.

That is because it is a wet cold! :B :B

Guess all people are entitled to complain no matter where you live .

Yes they are. Relatively ALL of his local neighbors that are hunkered down are snowbirds not natives. He's smirking at his own kind. :B

It is cold to us Florida weather sissies.:B

Heck, my wife puts a sweater on when it gets under 80 degrees.
  • Tucson is calling for a high of 80 tomorrow which won't be a record. For 16 of the last 17 days it has been in the 70's. Blue sky's and a light breeze are getting to be the norm this winter.

Typically we are 10 to 12 degrees cooler than what we have been seeing. This year is the driest (no rain for 37 days), and warmest, winter in at least 10 years. Had to put the sun screen back in my golf bag yesterday. :B
