One evening after a robbery in Alexandria of some type they interviewed a passerby. She stated that " That's just not what we are about here in Alexandria ". I almost choked lol.

I look at money lost in GC reservations as actually saving me money and time. I didn't have to drive all that way and burn all that fuel. There is always another trip.

chasnval's location is Virginia, but with the type of complaint posted here, I can assure everybody she is from Northern Virginia where almost everybody thinks they're special and deserving of whatever they want. She only came here to complain which is typical of the people here, in the Washington, DC metro area.

Aggressive? You blast a business for following their own stated policy. You're frustrated that you are out of money - but it's not the CG's fault you had an emergency. Everybody cancelling and wanting a refund against the stated policy will say it was an emergency.
I've had to cancel reservations twice in our TT adventures - one when my father died and one when my mother-in-law had emergency heart surgery. Lost money on both - didn't blame the CGs.

Wow... I had no idea there are so many aggressive people on these forums.

The reason for my post was out of frustration since they had re-rented our space for 5 of the 7 I paid for. Hence - double dipping. An offer to come stay a couple of nights when they have available, or any nice gesture, would have been some goodwill that would have gone a long way. Rather, they were quite nasty and insensitive to the entire situation.

Apologies for ticking some of you off by posting to your forum. I obviously won't be posting any other opinions on here. This is certainly not a good representation of the types of people I have met while RV'ing.

One hit wonder who joins to bash about a park following its stated cancellation policy, and is mad that they did. They are also a one hit wonder over at rvparkreviews with the same whine.

They used to be a PPA park when I stayed there. Rate was half at that time. They have since dropped out of the PPA system.

I have actually stayed at the campground and I thought it was a nice place.

I am always cognizant of the cancellation policies of anyplace that I am booked into. I remember in 1989 my dad rolled a farm tractor over on himself and I was called back home. I was at the Outer Banks at the time at the KOA there. At that time they had a no refund policy as well. I went to the office to tell them I had to leave and they refunded my remaining fee after I told them what had happened. I wasn't expecting a refund but they asked why I had to leave and after I told them they did it any way.

This past winter I had snowbird reservations at Willow Tree and made a $125 deposit. I have family in TX that my mother wanted to visit so I cancelled the Willow Tree reservation with a $25 forfeiture. I knew this and was happy to get at least a $100 back. I knew this at the time I made the reservation. I had planned to go to Willow Tree this snowbird season but they want a $500 deposit now with a $250 forfeiture if you cancel. So I am not going there this year because $250 is too much to lose since I have to remain fairly fluid due to family obligations.

My whole point is...know the policies before you plunk down your money and if you cannot live with the policy, you may need to rethink your choice. YMMV

The post was not meant as a blast to the OP or defend a resort I have never visited. I have a lot of time on my hands today, and was curious about the totality of circumstances.

Just the facts. Where you sit depends on what you see.

We seldom make reservations that require a deposit. Before laying out $; I ensure I review their cancellation policy. Things happen.

The subject park looks like a nice resort based on reviews and their website. I don't normally pay that rate to go to a park, except on a very rare, did I say very rare occasion.

obtw, that's probably one of the toughest NO Refund policies I've seen. However, got to hand it to them, they spelled it out, in detail.

Yes I see your point RV CONUS but the original poster is SPECIAL and does not need to look at the policies. They only apply to us ordinary people.

More of the policy states;
Refunds are not made for changes in your plans or the weather . . . Understand that we cannot be held responsible for weather, illness, work schedules or other situations affecting our guests and therefore, enforce our cancellation policy regardless of circumstances.

I mean after all how was the OP supposed to know the policy with an ambiguous statement as above :h
