Talledaga Raceway Camping, Campground Question

Has anyone stayed at Dove Ridge Campground since it has expanded from 28 sites to over 700.

Seemed that it was real wet for the fall race last year and we don't want to get stuck in the mud.

Any other campground suggestions welcome. No dry camp though. We will pay for the hookups.

Thanks

  • We stayed at C&C Camping for several years. They have electric and water sites. They are located directly adjacent to the speedway and have their own gate in order to access the race track property. It usually took us about 10-15 minutes to walk from our MH to the grandstands. Also, the park quiets down by 11pm (strictly enforced). The sites on the far west side provide much more room and are much less crowded. I would recommend this area. Look at the map on their web site. We had site BB-9, which is covered with grass, and we were there during several severe rain storms. We never had an issue with extremely muddy conditions. The campground is family owned and the folks are very friendly.
  • Most of the campgrounds on or near the speedway become mud pits when it rains, my neighbor make a fortune with his tow truck pulling peolpe out. There is a small campground, Talladega Creekside about 5 miles from the track just off of Eastabooga Rd (Talladega County 005}. They are on Cheaha Creek and have full hookups. Its is very quite yet only five minutes to the track. I'd let you stay at my house, we have full hookups but my brother will here for the race. We live five minutes from the track. If you need more info let me know and I'll try to get it for you.
