Terrace Pines in Center Ossipee, NH ????

Anyone familiar with or has stayed at Terrace Pines? Interested in making reservations there but want to be sure it's worth the 8 hr trip. They do have some sites on a lake, looks beautiful from what I can see in the pictures. Thanks....

  • Wow thanks, I have been looking at their campground online and it looks really nice and as you said spacious private sites right on the water too. (they have an interactive map that shows the sites) If you go to Portland not far from there you need to go to Red's Eats for an amazing Lobster Roll! We were there a couple of years ago when we camped in Maine on Moosehead Lake and it was worth the drive. Great food and dog friendly :) I think we will be going to Danforth Bay! As always you guys are the best, thanks again. Sue
  • As I write this I'm in The Bluffs, the over-50 cg part of Danforth Bay. I don't know about waterfront sites but there is water access. And if Danforth Bay is anything like The Bluffs it's an impeccable campground. Lots of staff & security, keycode gate access, and while The Bluffs is mostly seasonal campers there are no trash-looking trailers.
We did a canoe trip on the Saco river but the water level was so low it was barely passable. Shopping in North Conway, a ride on the scenic railroad, and did the auto road up Mt Washington (somewhat of a white-knuckle ride!) Tomorrow I think we'll do a trip to Portland.
  • We stayed at Danforth Bay last Spring and really liked it. The sites a nicely laid out so you are not on top of your neighbor. In most cases you cannot even see your neighbor. We will definitely return the Danforth Bay for another visit. Wanted to be closer to Conway and the White Mountains but the campgrounds in that area did not appear to be up to speed.
  • Thank you for your input! I will check into Danforth Bay and some other campgrounds. Looking to be on a river or lake (tubing, wading, kayaking and the view mostly for relaxation. So glad you enjoyed your trip to MD. I grew up going to Frontier Town before they had camping and have stayed there a couple of times when our daughter was little.
  • I am a seasonal at Danforth Bay, about 10 miles from Terrace Pines, but I play disc golf at Terrace Pines frequently.

Terrace Pines is not worth an 8 hour trip from Maryland, Danforth Bay is, as are several other rv parks in New England.

Funny, we just got back on Sunday from an 8 1/2 hour trip home from Frontiertown in Ocean City, Maryland. Definately worth the drive.
  • Not sure the reason you are coming to the area, check out rvparkreviews and other review sites which will be more up to date. The reason I say this as it has been 20 tears since I was there. It must be better than I remember, I think it was big on water fun, boating type things, maybe fishing etc. the things I remember, we were inn a pop up and they placed us on a seasonal site where I think the seasonal had just left, there was a huge pile of rotting firewood on the site. The closed bathroom was just a toilet and the building was too small to stand up straight in, the only playground at the time that we could find was a board nailed to 2 trees which had 2 swings on it. So read some reviews to see what they say. I know Danforth Bay is close by as well as other places just in case other reviews do not work out. Good luck.
