Texas Rio Grande Valley Events, Attractions, Dining & More

Lets try this again, if you find a great place to eat, know of a fun event coming up, a good museum, entertainment, golf course or whatever. Please share. Lets limit this thread to the Rio Grande Valley area, South Padre Island to Penitas.

If you folks in AZ or FL want to stare a similar thread for your area that would be great.

    Always looking for new local places for our group. Nothing wrong with the chains, but a lot more fun to find places like "Erma's Gift Shop" in Pharr. "Las Margaritas II" on 495 is a converted gas station with very good food and service. The "Echo Hotel" in Edinburg is a reasonably priced place with lots of character and history. Stuff you won't find at Jack in the Box.

    Have been back down here for a couple of weeks and have gotten re-introduced to Mr. Gatti's, Golden Corral and the Long Horn Cattle Company and not disappointed in any. Heading to Hidalgo for the Festival of Lights tomorrow night.
